Rosade Bonsai Studio — Beginner Classes and Open Workshops
Category: Learning Also called: Rosade Bonsai Studio classes; Chase Rosade bonsai classes; Rosade Bonsai (New Hope, PA) Last checked: 2026-10-20
What it is
Rosade Bonsai Studio in New Hope, Pennsylvania runs small, all-day bonsai classes at its studio. Its home page says owner Chase Rosade started the business in 1970 after returning from study in Japan, and that the studio offers “bonsai classes, maintenance, workshops, and boarding.” The studio’s 2026 class schedule says: “Classes are set up for no more than 6 students.”
Who it’s for
Beginners in the Philadelphia, Bucks County and central New Jersey area who want a full day of hands-on teaching in a very small group, and returning students who want help with their own trees in an open workshop.
Why it’s listed
It is a long-running studio with a printed, priced, dated class schedule on its own site, so it is more useful than a single event page. The schedule was checked on 2026-10-20:
- Introduction to Bonsai (beginner class), $175, 10 AM–4 PM: covers plants used, styling, pruning, soils and year-round care. Each student gets a notebook; after a bring-your-own lunch, each student gets a tree to develop into a bonsai. “Everything you need is provided in the class.”
- Open workshop, $75, 10 AM–4 PM: students bring their own plants, tools and wire to work on pruning, wiring, styling and care.
- Remaining 2026 dates: Wed Oct 28 (open workshop); Sat Oct 31 (open workshop); Sun Nov 1 (beginner class); Wed Nov 18 (open workshop); Sat Nov 21 (beginner class); Sat Nov 28 (open workshop, winter preparation); Sat Dec 12 (Introduction to tropical bonsai class, $175).
- Earlier 2026 sessions on the same schedule: beginner classes May 16, May 30, June 13, September 12 and October 10; tropical classes July 18 and August 15; World Bonsai Day open house May 9–10.
- Sign-up: by phone. The schedule says to call Chase at 215-499-9035 to set up a time, or if no date works.
Dates and prices are what the schedule showed on the check date. They change.

Notes
- Category is Learning: a studio’s own priced, recurring class program with dated sessions.
- The schedule is a PDF for calendar year 2026. After December 12, 2026 it has no more dates, so the cited URL will need a 2027 replacement; check the home page’s Class Schedule link.
- The cited
/s/link redirects to Squarespace’s file host and returns 200. - Booking is by phone only; there is no online registration or cart for classes. Classes are capped at six students, so dates can fill.
- Rosade also sells bonsai and offers boarding and maintenance, but there is no online shop; it is listed here for its classes.
- Pennsylvania is not new (Longwood Gardens is listed under Learning), but this is the first Bucks County listing. CO, NE, AR, FL, CT and MI were avoided.
- Listing image: the site has no logo image and no og:image (the header is text, and the favicon is only 100 px wide). The image is the studio’s own home-page photo of its display yard (
