Brussel’s Bonsai — Olive Branch, MS nurseries

What it is

Brussel’s Bonsai is a first-party specialty bonsai nursery and online shop based in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Official About Us: founded and built by Brussel Martin (lifelong bonsai grower who sought out American masters such as John Naka and Ben Oki while still in his teens; Asian grower relationships from the mid-1970s; annual buying trips to Japan, China, Taiwan, and South Korea). In 2005 the nursery moved to a custom-designed Olive Branch growing facility with climate-controlled greenhouses (About Us: almost 200,000 sq. ft.). Home and About Us describe it as the largest nursery in the United States devoted entirely to bonsai trees. The official shop sells indoor and outdoor bonsai trees (gift-ready through specimen), ceramic pots, soil, wire, tools, fertilizer, and related accessories, with free shipping on orders $49+ (under $49 ships for $11.95 on the home banner checked today). Annual Memorial Day weekend Rendezvous workshops and periodic open houses are nursery events (About Us), not a separate Learning-category identity. It is not a membership club and not a museum class series.

Who it’s for

USA shoppers (walk-in at the Olive Branch nursery and online via brusselsbonsai.com) who want first-party bonsai trees, pots, soil, wire, tools, and accessories with printed dollar prices; beginners through advanced growers shopping skill-level collections (Beginner / Hobbyist / Master on the home page); and visitors within driving distance of Memphis / Olive Branch for nursery hours, open houses, or Rendezvous. This listing treats Brussel’s as a Nurseries entry (trees/pots/tools with shop prices). Optional nursery events and online lessons mentioned on the home page do not move the card into Learning.

Why it’s listed

Q: Do Rendezvous or online lessons make this a Learning listing? A: No. Bonsai Plaza category lock: a nursery’s Memorial Day Rendezvous, open houses, or optional online lessons do not move the card into Learning. Learning needs a curriculum/schedule-first page as the primary identity (see Denver Botanic Gardens Beginning Bonsai or Pacific Bonsai Museum Bonsai Basics). Brussel’s remains Nurseries.
