What it is
Maple Ridge Nursery is a Japanese maple and conifer nursery in Gay, Georgia with its own online store at japanesemaplesandconifers.com. Its home page says it has been “growing Japanese Maples in Atlanta, GA since 1988,” with “over 300 varieties of Japanese maples and conifers to choose from at any one time,” and it ships 1-gallon and 3-gallon trees across the United States by UPS Ground. The nursery’s own “We are Moving!” post says the same family-run business moved from Decatur to Gay, GA starting in 2024. It is a grower of garden and pre-bonsai stock, not a bonsai-only shop and not a club or class desk.
Who it’s for
Growers anywhere in the U.S. who want young grafted Japanese maples, dwarf conifers and junipers to train as bonsai or pre-bonsai, and Georgia buyers who can book a visit. Reviews on the store include a buyer who says, “As a grower of bonsai, small leaves are desirable,” about a dwarf maple.
Why it’s listed
This is a first-party grower with a real cart. Product pages on its own Shopify store carry dollar prices and Add to cart, the cart page loads, and the site publishes an address, phone, email, shipping prices and a written warranty. It is not a directory card, not Amazon and not supplies-only.

- Warranty (policies page): a 90-day warranty on plants, handled as store credit at the nursery’s discretion; transit damage must be reported within 7 days.
Prices and stock are what the pages showed on the check date. They change.

Notes
- Category is Nurseries: a first-party grower with priced trees in its own cart. It is a Japanese maple and conifer nursery, so bonsai is a use of its stock, not its whole business.
- Georgia is not new: Atlanta Bonsai Society is already listed. Maple Ridge was named as an allowed alternate for this ship.
- Shipping figures differ slightly: the policies page says one 1-gallon tree ships for $20, while the home page says $18. Check the cart before ordering.
- Many bonsai-type conifers were sold out on the check date (Shimpaku, Reis Dwarf, Kotobuki and Banshosho black pines). Maples in stock are the safer sample.
- Geography: not in VA, AL, IL, WA, ID, OH, NJ, OK or DE.
- Listing image: the nursery’s own horizontal logo (
MR-Logo-2020-Horiz-Trans-1200w, the store’s og:image source), 1200×350, GIF converted to PNG and saved asmaple-ridge-nursery.png. - Not affiliated with Bonsai Plaza. No purchase, contact or form submission was made.
