Who it’s for

Front Range growers who want styled maples, yamadori or pre-bonsai material they can see in person, and intermediate hobbyists looking for a tree to work on in a small-group workshop.

Why it’s listed

It is a first-party grower selling its own trees through its own cart, not a reseller or Amazon. Checked on 2026-10-22, the store data showed these trees in stock at one of each, each with Add To Cart:

Shishigashira maple, $350 (two separate trees; one listed as 45 inches tall with a 4-inch base)
Black sage, $400
Trident maple, $550: “ready for styling, in Japanese pot, 2-inch base, 30 inches tall, great for a workshop!”
Amur maple, $1,250
Trident maple, $1,650
Also listed: a Blue Atlas cedar at $2,800, and a “Bonsai Workshop: Twisted Shimpaku Juniper” at $500 (five places).

The shop’s category filters also cover limber pine, bristlecone pine, ponderosa pine, Rocky Mountain juniper, spruce, Japanese apricot, red and Japanese maple, pre-bonsai and yamadori, though those categories had no current listings on the check date.

Location

Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is a private nursery with no published street address. The site asks you to set up an appointment to visit.

Notes

Category is Nurseries on the basis of its own tree sales with a working cart. Stock is small and one-of-a-kind, so listings change quickly.
Shipping isn’t described on the site. The product pages say “call or text for pics or vid,” and the nursery may expect pickup or local arrangements for larger trees. Ask before buying.
Colorado is not new (Denver listings exist), but this is the first Colorado Springs listing and the first Colorado nursery. OR, AZ, CA, TX, WI and PA (this week’s recent picks) were avoided.
Platform note: the curl check counted the word “captcha” in Squarespace’s bundled scripts. Every cited page returned 200 with real content and no challenge page.
Listing image: the site has a text-only header with no logo and no og:image, so this listing uses the nursery’s own home-page photo of a spruce bonsai (thumbnail_IMG_1381.jpg, 1440×1920), saved as the-jagged-spruce-bonsai-logo.jpg.
Not affiliated with Bonsai Plaza. No purchase, form or contact was made.
