What it is

Schley’s Bonsai & Supplies is a bonsai nursery in DeLand, Florida with its own online store at schleysbonsai.com. Its About page says the nursery “is located in Central Florida, in a beautiful wooded area beside the Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge,” sits “under the canopies of ancient moss covered oaks,” and is “one of the largest bonsai nurseries in Florida.” The store sells finished bonsai, one-of-a-kind pre-bonsai, starter kits, pots, soil, wire, tools, books and cuttings, and also lists beginner classes.

Who it’s for

Buyers anywhere in the U.S. who want a ready-made tropical or warm-climate bonsai (Chinese elm, willow leaf ficus, mini jade, Premna, Neea, Japanese black pine) or low-cost starter and cutting stock, and Central Florida visitors who want to see a large nursery in person.

Why it’s listed

This is a first-party grower with a real cart. The home page of its own store shows tree prices with Add to Cart, the cart page loads, and the site publishes a street address, phone, email, hours and a written refund and shipping policy. It is not a directory card, not Amazon and not a supplies-only shop.

• Sample trees and prices (store home page, checked 2026-10-16): Chinese elm in a glazed container $150; Yaupon holly (Ilex vomitoria) in a red glazed pot $200; Juniper procumbens nana in a chopped-quality container $200; Willow leaf ficus $225 and $365; Japanese black pine in a container $395; Premna microphylla $850; large Neea buxifolia $1,550.
• Starter and low-cost items: assorted Kyoto serissa starter bonsai $49; assorted mini jades in 6–7 inch glazed pots $69; beginner starter bonsai kit with tree $89.95 (sale price, sold out on the check date); cuttings and seedlings from $12.
• Classes in the same cart: the home page also lists a two-hour beginner bonsai class at $75 and a 2026 Bring Your Own Tree workshop at $45.
• Shipping and care (refund policy page): orders usually ship on Tuesdays, each item is hand-wrapped and insulated, shipping is insured, the nursery guarantees the tree’s health when it ships, and all sales are final with no returns. Some leaf drop in transit is called normal.

Prices and stock are what the pages showed on the check date. They change.

Notes

• Category is Nurseries: a first-party grower and retailer with priced trees in its own cart.
• Hours differ between the Contact page (Tue–Sat) and the footer and About page (Thu–Sat), and two different email addresses appear. Confirm by phone.
• Collection and product pages return HTTP 429 to a scripted Chrome-user-agent request from the checking machine, so they are not cited here; prices above come from the home page, which returns 200.
• Florida is not new: several Florida listings already exist. Georgia, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oklahoma and Delaware were avoided as recently used.
